Meet the Committee

CLUB CHAIR - DAN MORRIS
I'm Dan, I'm 23 and I've been part of the club for almost 3 years. Growing up, I was always involved in sport whether that was running in a school sports day or lining up for national level cycling events across the country. After a few years of very little sport, I started running at Uni, pounding the canals of Birmingham but never had anyone to run with, so was excited to join BRC when I moved back home. I was delighted that the club was so welcoming and I felt at home right away. Since then, I have regularly attended club runs, made great friends and done some amazing events, the peak of which being the Great North Run in 2024 which was my first Half Marathon. In 2025, I would like to go one bigger and complete a marathon as well as doing a number of local races and improving upon some of my PBs.

SECRETARY - TERESA LIPPITT
I joined Bridgnorth Running Club in 2016, as I was bored of running around my housing estate on my own, and hoped to make friends in the area (I was fairly new to Bridgnorth at the time). I can safely say that my plan worked, as everyone was so welcoming and I have made the most amazing friends. I am definitely not an athlete, and most club members will tell you that I am a steady runner/plodder who loves a good chat! I have run a few half marathons (Malaga was a highlight), but prefer to stick to 10k these days.
I love being involved with such a fantastic club and as well as being Club Secretary, I'm a LiRF run leader and a member of the annual Bridgnorth 10k organising committee. I also volunteer at Severn Valley Country parkrun - look out for me on finish line, as I'm regularly one of the timekeepers.

TREASURER - STUART CARR
I have been a committee member for about 6 years and am also a member of the 10K committee.
I first started running when I was living in Germany back in 2009 primarily to keep fit and as a way of clearing my head after a busy day at work. I did reluctantly sign up and complete the Cologne Half Marathon while I was there, encouraged to enter by some enthusiastic work colleagues. I joined BRC on my return to UK and have to continued to be an active member ever since. I am not a serious runner, nor I am that competitive but have entered a few events over the years. As well as the obvious mental and physical benefits of running, I mostly enjoy the social side of club, having the opportunity to chat to members new and old over a pint or two after our Thursday night runs. As an active LiRF leader, I also enjoy offering support to fellow members whenever and wherever I can.
I have done a handful of half marathons and even did my first marathon in Edinburgh last year. I enjoy running Canicross with Lola, my pointer lab cross - most of my PBs seem to registered when she is dragging me along My favourite events include Petzl Night Run and Goldrush Canicross, both events are held at Coed y Brenin in Wales - I can highly recommend them.

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY - NATALIE CARR
I started running with BRC on what I think was the second C25k in about 2012, when it was more commonly amongst us known as ‘Bridgnorth we don’t like running and prefer drinking Club.’ (We are still ok with this attitude! )
I’ve always been ‘a bit sporty’ having ran at school: sprints, cross country and then settling on 400m, but I started running with club during the winter months as I felt like I needed to get outside more and I couldn’t ride my horse in the evenings. I soon fell in love with the club and was running every week.
When the club was starting the EA affiliation process, we needed to get a full committee. I offered to help out and join. I have been social sec, club chair and am now membership sec. I also completed the LiRF course some years ago.
I have a love/hate relationship with running which comes and goes, definitely preferring trail running to road, but I will always be prepared to run on #parkrunday. I love all aspects of parkrun, the variety of courses, and its versatility for all runners and walkers.
My most proud running moments have been when my mom and stepdad competed their C25k with club, and personally back in 2019 where I ran Thunder Run solo, competing 11 laps of a trail 10k course in 24 hours, totalling just over 67 miles.

COACHING CO-ORDINATOR - NINA WILLIAMS
Nina joined the club in 2015, after running solo for 12 months.
I am the coaching co-ordinator and an EA LiRF leader for the club. My role also involves helping improve our members’ performance by coordinating our speed improvement sessions.
My best achievement was running the London Marathon which I have completed twice, once in 2018 and then again in 2023.
I also enjoy runs with my spaniel Skye when I’m not out with BRC.
It’s a great club to be part of.

WELFARE OFFICER - JOHN HARRIS
Hi I'm John, I joined the club before it was a club and was just a bunch of people who liked running who would meet up on a Monday and Thursday. Then the club got organized and I got injured! I made a last ditch attempt at returning to running through the club's C25k three years ago and it worked! My first running claim to fame is that I ran in an Olympic Marathon Trial (and finished only 3 and a half hours after the winner!). My second is that I once vouched for Sebastian Coe to get him into an Athletics meeting. My greatest thought has to be my ability to take the wrong turn in races! My legs are older now but they still move and my ambition is to keep running as long as I can. I use some of our older members as my inspiration.
The club works well on so many levels. It improves your running and fitness wherever you are starting from, it motivates you to get out there even on days you don't really fancy it and there is something about running alongside others which inspires some amazing conversations and moments.

WELFARE OFFICER - CLARE GIBBARD
I joined Bridgnorth Running Club in November 2017. I was going through a tough time in my personal life, felt low in confidence and thought I could benefit from meeting some new people. The club was so welcoming and within just a few months I’d made some lovely friends and found out I wasn’t too bad a runner either! I completed my LiRF qualification in 2019 and really enjoy leading groups including coached sessions. My favourite race was the Forest of Dean Spring Trails Half Marathon. For coming 31st female, I got a ‘Top 50 Athlete’ T-shirt! In general though I prefer 5k or 10k as a distance (as do my knees). I don’t have any running goals as such, just to keep running, stay fit and have fun!

DIGITAL/ MEDIA - SARA NUNNEY
I was a keen runner at school, competing in both cross country and athletics. At university and afterwards, other sports rather took over and I did very little running until about 8 years ago.
I had a rescue dog (Bumble) who needed more exercise than she was getting, so we started jogging with a friend and her dog.
I had no intention of racing, but we went along to our local parkrun and in one 5km run got the bug! Since then, we have gone on to race canicross both nationally and for the British team and I have rather fallen into running solo as well! I now split my racing between attempting 5km as fast as possible with my dogs and ultras without them - two very different types of suffering! Barring races, I can still be found at a parkrun every Saturday.
I joined BRC in 2021 when I moved to the area. I’ve loved getting to know so many people and having people to run with. I knew absolutely no one when we moved, now I rarely leave the house without seeing someone I know. I’m new to the committee this year and am taking on the marketing and media side of things.

SOCIAL SECRETARY - CHARLIE NUNNEY
I’ve been a keen runner my whole life and when I was in my 20s, ran 7 marathons in 10 weeks. Since then, I’ve got into triathlon and have completed six full Ironman races. Nowadays as well as triathlon, I dabble in ultras, love a parkrun and have even been bullied into the odd canicross race by my wife!
I joined the club when I moved to the area in 2021 to meet people with similar interests. I work away fairly frequently so don’t always make club runs, but since I always try and make it to a pub trip I thought I would make a decent social secretary!

KIT OFFICER - SARAH CRAWFORD-CLARKE
After doing taekwondo with my kids for a few years I was looking to replace it with some regular exercise that was affordable and flexible on times, so I joined BRC. My motivation then was to manage the stresses of life and try to stay fit and strong.
Ten years+ in I have so many memories that its hard to pick out highlights but I can remember so many conversations I’ve had running beside people I know well and people I’ve just met. I got a buzz from doing the Sexarathon series three times, loved night runs with BRC at Brown Clee and Comer. Had weird but OK times solo running in Covid with targets set by the ever inspiring Lucy. BRC relay events are so much fun. Despite not being an athlete I’ve built up confidence with trail, doing solo runs on hills and coastal paths. Last year I trained and did some of the local Summer Fell series. Seems age is no excuse in that world so guess I’ll be carrying on! BRC opens doors to friendship, fitness and a world of positive experiences.

EA LiRF CO-ORDINATOR - LUCY AMOS
I started running with BRC over ten years ago doing their very first c25k program. Since then I’ve completed all sorts of races of different distances and terrains. My main running passion at the moment is parkrun and I really enjoy working on the various challenges there. I’ve also been a keen buggy runner since having children although I’m working to get them out the buggy and running independently at the moment, with mixed success!

OTHER MEMBERS - JULIE ROBERTS
I started running in 2015 at the age of 55. I had not run since my school days and wanted to get fit again. The club was running a C25K course, and after much persuasion by my daughter Natalie, I decided to give it a go. I never imagined I would actually go on to enjoy running! After running with the club for about a year, I was asked if I would be interested in becoming a LIRF leader, which I did, and I have been a regular leader since.
I have enjoyed, many races over the years. I much prefer off-road running, I love the countryside and being outside. I competed in the Sexarathon series several times, and one of my best achievements was winning my age category overall in the series.
My 5k PB is, I think, from memory 28 minutes, 10 seconds, not bad for a person with a 5k starting time of about 45 minutes. These days, I'm nearer 45 minutes again, but it's not about how long it takes, It's about doing it, and enjoying it. I have no desire to run great distances, or fast times.
I became a committee member after a few years with the club and have also been involved with the 10k committee and running the C25k course. I think BRC is a great club, welcoming, inclusive and fun, and I have made many friends through the club.
